Twitter is essentially where the news of Osama bin Laden's death broke. It's also where many Americans and folks around the world reacted. The immediacy of Twitter is amazing, but can also be dangerous.

Here's a sampling of the reaction from some folks around the MMA world.

Former Ultimate Fighter cast member Brad Tavares was lost when he started seeing bin Laden trending. Inside a movie theater, he hadn't seen the news.

Tiki Ghosn, a trainer partner of Quinton Jackson's, was in celebratory mode.

Brian Stann, a Naval Academy grad and Marine, hopes this is the beginning of real progress in the Middle East.

Tim Kennedy, an Army Ranger, who's served in both Afghanistan and Iraq, wishes he was involved in the bin Laden raid.

Carlos Condit called for extra retribution.

Kenny Florian gave praise to the special force members who sacrificed all these years in pursuit of bin Laden.

Anthony Johnson did the same.

UFC veteran Nate Quarry looked to lighten the mood by turning to the joke that was used no less than 500 times this morning.

Showtime announcer Mauro Ranallo had the strange initial reaction of asking why it took so long to catch bin Laden.

He was greeted with anger and an explanation.

Jiu-jitsu ace and former UFC broadcaster Eddie Bravo began to discuss 9-11 conspiracy theories.

HDNet broadcaster Michael Schiavello said he'd have to retire one of his "time proven" catch-phrases.

That's the way to start out the biggest MMA event in North American history. Pablo Garza flashed some impressive jiu-jitsu by executing a flying triangle. Garza caught Yves Jabouin in the submission and finished it on the ground to up his first UFC victory at 4:31 of the first round.

John Makdessi followed that up with an even more spectacular spinning backfist knockout of Kyle Watson. Watson caught the left hand on the chin, went down in a heap and slammed his head against the mat at 1:27 of the third round. He was actually unconscious for a few minutes following the knockout.

UFC 129 sold 55,000 tickets at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Media members on the scene report that the building is about half full with another five and half hours of fighting on the way.

Garza-Jabouin and Watson-Makdessi were the first two of five fights being streamed on the UFC Facebook page. There's a long way to go, but Garza and Makdessi certainly themselves in the mix for a postfight bonus.

The UFC hands out bonuses for Knockout of the Night, Fight of the Night and Submission of the Night. The promotion awarded record $100,000 bonuses at UFC 100. With a UFC-record gate in excess of $11 million, one can only guess how massive tonight's bonuses might be.

UPDATE: UFC analyst Joe Rogan confirmed the bonuses will be $129,000 each.

According to The Mainichi Daily News, customs agents in Chile have detected low levels of radiation on vehicles shipped from Japan. Of the 2,500 vehicles shipped from the port of Yokohama, radioactivity was detected on 21 once they reached Iquique. The levels of radiation were determined to be too low to be of any harm to humans by the Chilean Nuclear Commission, though that didn't stop around 100 dock workers from protesting on the grounds that their health was needlessly put at risk.

We're just glad that the individuals working to contain Japan's compromised reactors are a little more selfless.

Each of the contaminated vehicles will be hosed down inside the Hyundai 106 container ship that they arrived in, which should contain the radiation inside the vessel. So far, this is the first batch of exported vehicles to show any radioactivity since the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disasters in Japan this March.

Last week a photo appeared on NYMag.com of Beyoncé, dressed in a blue Roberto Cavalli jumpsuit and a funky maroon fur coat, reportedly shooting a video in New Jersey for her forthcoming studio album.

A rep for the singer never returned MTV News' request for comment and now, nearly two weeks later, details about the video shoot are being revealed. According to Ace Showbiz, the video will be directed by music video auteur Francis Lawrence, who has gone behind the lens for Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Pink and Bey's former girl group, Destiny's Child.

Rumor has it that 200 African dancers and eight choreographers were hired for the clip. According to several online message boards, auditions for dancers were held in Los Angeles. Fan sites such as BeyonceDaily.com have posted blurry pictures that appear to show the singer on the set of the video, which is reportedly for the song called "Girl."

In the snapshots, Beyoncé's hair is done up in a faux-hawk, and she's wearing a white jumpsuit and sunglasses. The outfit is reportedly Givenchy couture.

The song is a "female empowerment/girl power type of song that is a definite club banger with Top 40/Worldly appeal," according to one commenter who talked about the open call after his friend attended. "The beat is driven by a sample of a popular club song that a lot of you will probably recognize. There's a breakdown in the song that is described as absolutely disgustingly sick! Definitely an anthem in the style of her singing." The post also backs up the claim that there will be upwards of 200 dancers in the video.

Rumors are floating around that Beyoncé's new album may drop this June. Sony Music Australia boss Denis Handlin told The Telegraph in Australia that "it was just amazing." He added that while he was in New York, the star herself was on hand to play some of the new music.

"She came in and played us six tracks from the album. She wants to do a big tour off the back of this record, which will include Australia," he explained. "These songs, the best description I can give is groundbreaking; she's gone to another level."

Over the course of recording the new album, Beyoncé has been rumored to hit the studio with a number of big industry names like Diplo, Sleigh Bells and Kanye West's producer S1. When she spoke to MTV News last November, she made it clear that sonically she was thinking outside the box.

"Well, I wouldn't say I'm inventing a new genre," Beyoncé explained. "I'm mixing every type of genre that I love and I'm inspired by every type of genre. ... I'm not in a box. It's not R&B. It's not typically pop. It's not rock. It's just everything I love all mixed together in my own little gumbo of music."

National anthems -- "O Canada" vs. "The Star-Spangled Banner": The U.S. national anthem, when sung well, can tear the house down, but it's not easy for an average person to sing.� That's not true of "O Canada." During the Vancouver Olympics, Canadians showed how easy it was to sing their anthem. Advantage: Canada

National animal: For America, it's the bald eagle, a strong, proud bird that can pick off prey from a mile away. Canada's, which can seen on the header of the new Yahoo! Sports Blog, The Eh Game, is the beaver. Advantage: the U.S.

Nate Diaz vs. Rory McDonald: Does Canada have a Stockton equivalent? Nah The baddest fighters come from Cali, not Quebec. Advantage: U.S.

Other sports: Well, Canada did just win a figure skating world championship and the Canucks knocked my Blackhawks out of the playoffs, and they won the gold medal in both men's and women's hockey at the Vancouver Olympics. Canadians also excel at curling. Outside of that, America rules. Football, baseball, basketball -- I'll take Derrick Rose over Steve Nash -- we're better. We'll give you hockey, Canada. We'll take the rest. Advantage: U.S.

Other fights: On the other UFC 129 Canada vs. U.S. fights, my picks are Makdessi, Patrick, Jabouin for Canada and Ellenberger, Valencia, Jensen for the U.S.

In a world chock-full of bad ideas, the makers of the GoSmart Clip have found a way to stand out. The device is actually quite simple in form. It's a plastic phone holder that clips onto many smartphones, and utilizes an elastic strap to adhere itself to the steering wheel. The device retails for $29.95, and it comes in both red and black.

A $30 price tag isn't too horrible for any chunk of useful plastic, but this testament to distracted driving takes "smart" to an entirely different level. The device is obviously for those who like to play on their phone when they're going 75 miles-per-hour, though the device's FAQ page tells owners not to text and drive and recommends using Bluetooth when you're on a call. That was responsible of them. And if you're wondering if the device blocks the gauge cluster, we're guessing the answer is almost always yes. But don't worry, the FAQ says that if the gauges are blocked, simply move the device too 11 o'clock or 1 o'clock on the steering wheel. Problem solved, right?

With over 5,000 deaths per year attributed to distracted driving, the GoSmart seems like one of the worst accessories ever. Luckily, the company made a video to prove how sturdy the device is, and you can check it out by hitting the jump.

Jason MacDonald is one resilient dude. He suffered a broken tibia and fibula back at UFC 113, but refused to be taken from the Montreal cage on a stretcher. He walked to the locker room to the night, so it should come as no surprise that the UFC veteran stormed back less than 12 months later to post a win over Ryan Jensen in fight No. 3 at UFC 129 in Toronto.

Less than 10 seconds into the fight, MacDonald worked a single-leg takedown. Jensen went down and tried to work a guillotine choke, but he was no match for the slick ground game of MacDonald.

The Canadian quickly transitioned to take Jensen's back. It was academic from there. Jensen's right arm was trapped.

MacDonald had the option of going for a triangle choke or armbar. He went with the triangle. Jensen lifted MacDonald off the ground and tried to slam his way out. That was an awful move, it only help MacDonald lock it on tighter. Jensen tapped at 1:37 of the first.

There's was plenty to talk about after a lengthy Wednesday press conference and the media session that followed with Dana White. Kevin Iole is Yahoo! Sports' man on the scene in Toronto for UFC 129. He joined us via Skype to talk about what the Rogers Centre may look like for this 55,000-seat setup. There's talk of a giant scoreboard and massive sound system. Maybe the scoreboard will look something like what Top Rank Promotions has used for several recent boxing events.

There was huge media contingent on hand. That included what seemed like of all the media in Toronto. Iole pointed out that maybe American media outlets should take a look at what's going down in Toronto this week. Why aren't U.S events always covered like this?

She may have retired Sasha Fierce, but that doesn't mean she's any less fierce. Beyoncé's promo shot for her girl-power anthem, possibly titled "Girls (That Rule the World)," has hit the Internet.

In the close-up, black-and-white snapshot, Beyoncé looks as if she's channeling Grace Jones. Her hair is pulled back sleekly, her mouth is slightly open and her black liquid eye makeup is done up in a funky cat-eye style. She appears to be nude and is wearing black nail polish. The shot first appeared on Twitter. The question "Who run the world?" appears on the poster, with the tease, "Coming Soon."

The photo comes as more and more shots of the music video for the song have hit the Web. On Wednesday, Beyoncé was seen on the set looking like the queen of her own country, with a gigantic crown and flag with the initial "B" on it.

Just a day before, Beyoncé made headlines when she was spotted on a music video set wearing a white Givenchy jumpsuit, faux-hawk and sunglasses. The video will reportedly be directed by Francis Lawrence, who worked with Beyoncé in her Destiny's Child days. He's also worked with Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Pink.

On Thursday, a snippet of the track leaked. It's a feisty club-thumper about the power of being female.

"Love it how we're smart enough to make these millions, strong enough to bear the children, then get back to business," she sings. "Please, you better not play me. Oh, come here, baby/ Hope you still like me, if you pay me."

The tease certainly fit Bey's previous description of the album's vibe. "Well, I wouldn't say I'm inventing a new genre," Beyoncé explained. "I'm mixing every type of genre that I love, and I'm inspired by every type of genre. ... I'm not in a box. It's not R&B. It's not typically pop. It's not rock. It's just everything I love all mixed together in my own little gumbo of music."

Canadians are faithful and creative MMA fans. A few thousand attended a Dana White Q & A yesterday at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto. They've learned from experience that if you ask Dana White for something, he may actually give it to you.

Multiple fans asked for a chance to go backstage during the weigh-in. It appeared that 28 of them got back there.

Another fan asked if he could sit next to the Octagon girls during UFC 129 - wish granted. And the most bold fan asked if he could come into the cage following the main event. He told White that he's great at eveything except putting the championship belt on, so the fan asked if he could put the belt on Georges St-Pierre after he beats "James" Shields. Clearly, he's a baseball fan. Jake is the fighter challenging GSP, James is a pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays. White thought for a second and said yes. He confirmed it later in a short conversation with Joe Rogan (3:25 mark).

White and the crew give us a quick look at Rogers Centre with its configuration for the 55,000 tonight. A reporter, sitting in an SUV with White and owner Lorenzo Fertitta in the bowels of Rogers Centre, was scared to death when the sound in the arena was cranked up. White said it shook the car.

White also jokes while walking around the arena that he hopes no one presses "the button" to open the Rogers Centre roof. The stadium that used to be known as Skydome has a retractable roof. There is a giant four-sided scoreboard with HD screens hanging over the Octagon (8:05 mark)

Beyoncé is teasing fans with a 20-second sneak peek of the video for "Run the World (Girls)," the lead single from her forthcoming album, set for release this year.

B is nowhere to be seen in the tease, but the clip certainly gives fans a taste of the video's sexiness. Leggy ladies, from all walks of life, mug for the camera as they hang out in the desert. They saunter, prance, hang out on bikes and look generally over everything, all while being totally hot. The fashions are mostly funky chic: lots of black, lots of fur and lots of hot pants.

A previous glimpse into the post-apocalyptic video showed the remains of what once was (a rusty car, a newspaper) before Beyoncé appears in all her glory, decked out in white and riding a horse.

Fans can also piece together some parts of the video thanks to leaked photos. B had been seen sporting white Givenchy couture in mid-April and then she looked both fierce and regal waving a "B" flag for anther setup, where she seemed to be commanding some sort of army.

Director Francis Lawrence didn't reveal too much to us when MTV News talked to him a few weeks back, but he did give some details about what fans should expect from the video, which was shot last month in California.

"It'll be big, it'll probably be one of the bigger Beyoncé music videos ever done," he said. "And, I can say that I think the song is unbelievable." He added, "I think the video's gonna be really fun and cool and different for her."

One of the biggest mixed martial arts cards in history takes place on Saturday night, with the UFC smashing its attendance record by selling 55,000 tickets to fans who will get to see the UFC's most popular fighter, Georges St-Pierre, defend his welterweight belt against challenger Jake Shields.

When: Saturday, the Facebook stream starts at 6PM ET, the Spike TV fights start at 8 and the pay-per-view fights start at 9.

As the price of fuel rises, those shopping for automobiles began to take an even deeper look at their options before plunking down the greenbacks. It's an economics carnival ride that never seems to stop running, and consumers can never stop riding. General Motors has been paying extra attention to the amount of trucks it's selling, and it knows that a 111-day stockpile of full-size pickups is less than ideal.

One month is hardly a trend, however, and GM's North American President Mark Reuss will be eyeballing the company's pickup truck inventory as the weeks progress. Should the amount of trucks sitting on lot stay high, Reuss will have to scale back production of his full-size work horses.

As trucks sit and fuel prices rise, economy cars start to look more attractive to shoppers. GM saw a record number of Chevrolet Cruze sedans finding new homes in April. Even though its compacts are surging, trucks haven't fallen completely flat. Year-to-date demand for pickups, despite falling last month, is still up compared to 2010.

Gracing the hit FOX show with her much-awaited performance, Jennifer Lopez was the center of attention during Top 5 night on "American Idol" on Thursday (May 5).

The 41-year-old superstar took the stage to perform her new single "On The Floor" while joined by rapper Pitbull, who kicked things off as he worked his way through the audience.

Yves Jabouin's days of fighting at 145 pounds may soon be coming to an end.

Following Jabouin's third loss in his last four fights at UFC 129, his head trainer Firas Zahabi said on Monday's episode of The MMA Hour that it could be time for the exciting featherweight to consider moving down a weight class.

"I'm going to consider dropping him to 135," Zahabi said. "That's something I've talked to him about, and he could make 135 easily, I believe. He just doesn't like cutting weight.

"You could see the great size difference between him and his opponent, and I'm a big believer in not giving away any advantages. I felt he gave away the size advantage, that's why Garza was able to get some knees in and I think Yves' striking is far beyond his opponent Pablo Garza. Garza is more of a jiu-jitsu specialist, but he is bigger and taller and had a weight advantage, so he was able to work his game.

"But I really believe Yves also has to go more to the drawing board and work more on jiu-jitsu and make some extra time for his jiu-jitsu."
