New York: 2013 BMW X6 M reveals its very discreet enhancements

2013 BMW X6 M live at New York Auto Show reveal

BMW has treated its high-performance X6 M to a refresh for the 2013 model year, rolling the controversial bad boy out during the New York Auto Show for its first official appearance. Unfortunately, the changes are so subtle that we required an official BMW tour guide to point them out. In lieu of such a service for each of our readers, the next paragraph will have to suffice.

Most obvious is the new 'power bulge' hood, borrowed from the now-defunct BMW X6 Active Hybrid. Less visible are the cosmetic changes to the BMW-signature kidney grill and the new optional LED headlights (active HID bulbs remain standard). Peer inside the 20-inch wheels to spot the painted calipers, now in a distinguished "M" blue (vehicles with optional carbon/ceramic brakes have gold calipers). Lastly, inside the cabin, BMW's active sport seats are now standard.

Unchanged - and rightly so - is the gobsmacking twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 boasting 555 hp and 501 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a six-speed paddleshift automatic and permanent all-wheel drive, the hunchbacked hero will easily crack 60 mph in under than five seconds. By the way, you'll have to make your own arrangements to get the gaudy Olympic sponsorship graphics seen on the vehicle above.

Now, a few more rappers want to get dirty with the glittery pop singer. <a href="http://www.xxlmag.com/news/2011/10/t-i-andre-300-lil-wayne-wiz-khalifa-record-kesha-remix" target="_blank">XXLmag.com</a> reports that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/t_i_/artist.jhtml">T.I.</a> plans to jump on the track, and Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa will also be joining Andre and Tip on a new version of "Sleazy." Weezy should be a welcome addition to <a href="/news/articles/1651081/keha-gets-sleazy-on-new-cannibal-track.jhtml">Ke$ha's dance tune</a>, as it sounds somewhat like Wayne's single "A Milli." And while not much else is known about the remix, T.I. promised that he's going to go big with his verse. "I haven't heard anybody but mine. ... I'm gonna put my money on mine," the newly freed rapper, who <a href="/news/articles/1671950/ti_prison-release.jhtml">ended an 11-month prison sentence</a> in September, told the website. The Andre 3000 remix dropped earlier this year and appears on K-Dollar Sign's album Cannibal. The guys will have a lot of swagger to compete with because when Andre appeared on the first remix, he had this to say: "We start out so cute in our baby pictures/ That mama shot for our daddy so that he wouldn't forget you/ He forgot anyway, but hey, one day he'll remember/ If not, he's human, I'm human, you human, we'll forgive him/ I call her Keisha, she like it because it's 'hood to her/ She call me Andre 6000 because I'm good to her." Tip told XXLmag.com that his appearance on the Ke$ha song is just one of many remixes he's amped about. He has also worked on remixes for Meek Mill and Rick Ross's "Ima Boss," as well as Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne song "N---as in Paris." "I'm looking for some more records to jump on," he said. "That's what I'm doin' right now. I'm commandeering hit records right now. I'm hijacking hit records. If you got a hit, I'm on it." Ford honored most by 2012 KBB Brand Image Awards

Kelley Blue Book has issued its 2012 Brand Image Awards and Ford took home four of the 12 honors.

The Blue Oval was recognized as the Most Family-Friendly Brand, Best interior Design Brand, Non-Luxury, Best Exterior Design Brand, Non-Luxury, and Most Rugged Truck Brand. Cadillac was the only other U.S. marque to win awards. It took the Best Interior Design Brand, Luxury and Best Comfort Brand.

The usually dominant Japanese brands were scarce, with Honda the only representative. Honda took the Most Trusted Brand and Best Value Brand.

The remaining four categories all went to Germany. BMW took Best Exterior Design Brand (somewhere Chris Bangle is smiling), Porsche took Coolest Brand and Best Performance Brand. Mercedes-Benz, for the fifth year in a row, was named the Most Prestigious Brand.

More matchmaking: Tito Ortiz retirement bout set, Demian Maia drops down, and more

With no events on the books until Apr. 14, the UFC has plenty of time to make matches for the spring and summer run of events.

-- Tito Ortiz will fight Forrest Griffin one more time. In what is expected to be Ortiz's final fight before retiring, the pair will meet up at UFC 148 in Las Vegas on July 7. The two are 1-1 against each other, with Ortiz taking their bout at UFC 59 and Griffin winning at UFC 106. Both were split decisions.

-- Also at UFC 148, former championship contender Demian Maia will debut at welterweight. He'll make the move down from middleweight and face Dong Hyun-Kim.

-- Featherweight prospects Jimmy Hettes and Steven Siler will square off at UFC on FX 4 in Atlantic City. Hettes will put his undefeated record on the line against Siler, who has two wins in the UFC.

-- In a fight that will surely be fun to watch, Josh Neer will fight Mike Pyle at UFC on FX 3 on June 8. Neer won four of his five fights by TKO, and Pyle is coming off a TKO of Ricardo Funch.

Sykes quickest in first SBK session

The first session of Infront testing reserved for Superbike was red-flagged a few minutes from the end after a serious crash involving the factory Kawasaki rider Joan Lascorz.

At that moment his team-mate Tom Sykes was top of the timesheets with a time of 1 minute 47.365 seconds, ahead of Carlos Checa (Ducati Althea Racing) with a 1’47″430 and the BMW Motorrad duo of Leon Haslam and Marco Melandri.

Lascorz had completed 35 laps, with a best time of 1’48″197.

Official: Jaguar F-Type officially confirmed for production in 2013 [w/video]

Remember the stunning Jaguar C-X16 concept that debuted at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show? Guess what, kids - it's coming to production. Well, sort of.

Jaguar has officially announced that a new entry-level sports car will come to market next year and that it will indeed carry the "F-Type" moniker. But unlike the coupe concept that we saw in Frankfurt, the automaker has revealed that the F-Type will be a two-seat roadster.

No other official details have been confirmed, though Jaguar's press release confirms that "a range of engines will be available, including a new powerplant family." For reference, the C-X16 concept came with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 - good for 376 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque - matched with a "Push to Pass" hybrid system controlled by a steering wheel-mounted button that delivers an additional 92 hp and 173 lb-ft of twist when pressed.

Jaguar will announce the full F-Type model range and details later this year (likely at the Paris Motor Show) and the car will go on sale in mid-2013. Scroll down for the official press release and to watch - and hear - a disguised prototype.

2013 BMW X1 live at New York Auto Show reveal

Opinions found at the Autoblog table of most auto show press rooms are usually in concert, but every once in a while, we fail to come to a consensus. This 2013 BMW X1 is one such cause of discord, you see, as some of us think it belongs only on European streets, while others insist it will find enough homes here in North America.

The smallest of Bavarian crossovers has been available in overseas markets for a while now, but with its unveiling here at the New York Auto Show, BMW is preparing to launch it in the North American market. And along with it, the tallish wagon has received a facelift and interior rework.

When deliveries begin at American BMW showrooms this coming September, buyers will be able to choose between two twin-turbo engines - the 245-horsepower sDrive28i (in rear-wheel-drive) or all-wheel-drive xDrive28i, and the 306-hp X1 xDrive35i. The first and last are U.S. exclusives.

Pricing? Glad you asked. The X1 sDrive28i will carry a $31,545 price tag - including $895 in delivery fees. The churns-at-all-fours xDrive28i commands $33,245, and the 306-hp xDrive35i can be yours for $39,345.

Because while Ke$ha's new album is still a ways off, she's already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc. "I'm trying, trust me," she laughed. Ke$ha Calls Bob Dylan Cover 'An Emotional Purging'

Pop singer sings 'Don't Think Twice, It's All Right' for Amnesty International anniversary album.

It's hard to associate <a href="/music/artist/_kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a> with songs about anything other than hot guys, body glitter and partying. But she's defying her usual topics of interest for human rights organization Amnesty International. The singer is one of the many musicians on the org's Chimes of Freedom compilation of Bob Dylan's music, out January 24. <div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ke$ha Calls Bob Dylan Cover Choice 'An Accident'" id="vid:720838" width="240" height="211"></div> When MTV News spoke with K-Dollar Sign last week about her <a href="/news/articles/1676172/kesha-sleazy-remix.jhtml">all-star remix of "Sleazy,"</a> she also opened up about switching gears vocally and emotionally for her version of Dylan's classic "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right." "I mean, I think it's pretty well known that he's one of, if not my most, favorite artists of all time and ... one of the most amazing lyricists as well — the original storyteller," she explained. "So I love Bob Dylan and this was just, like, a dream. When they asked me to do a cover, I was just, like, salivating and going through all my records. It was so fun. It was the best homework assignment you could possibly have." K's version of Dylan's song is a slow-burning, heartbreaking ode to the already heartbreaking classic, where she channels Dylan through lyrics like "Still I wish there was somethin' you would do or say/ To try and make me change my mind and stay/ We never did too much talkin' anyway/ So don't think twice, it's all right." <div class="player-placeholder right" title="What Is The Biggest Perk Of Being A Headliner?" id="vid:642810" width="240" height="211"></div> Ke$ha had originally intended to record another Dylan track, but when she heard that someone else had their sights set on it, she settled on "Don't Think Twice," prompting a catharsis she could never have imagined. "This song was kind of an accident. I sat down and this is the first take that I ever sang," she recalled. "I just sat down on my bed for the first time after months of being on tour and I just started crying, and it was kind of like an emotional purging, and you can hear it on the record." In addition to Ke$ha and her contribution, the album will feature 75 other Dylan classics recorded by nearly 80 artists including Adele, Miley Cyrus, "Glee" star Darren Criss, My Chemical Romance, Evan Rachel Wood and Sugarland. The album pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International.

Anderson Silva, the still-reigning king of the pound-for-pound rankings, showed off how he really likes to punch things in the latest ad for Fox. Like the Jon Jones ad before it, this ad shows Silva is "just a normal guy," except not at all. Judging by the aftermath Silva's punches left in his neighborhood, Chael Sonnen should be concerned about what he will look like after their bout on June 23.

Report: UAW membership climbs 1.1% thanks to automakers adding jobs

The United Auto Workers has seen an increase in membership for the second straight year, according to Bloomberg. Last year, the union saw its ranks grow by 1.1 percent to 380,719 members, thanks in part to increased hiring by domestic automakers. In 2010, the UAW grew by six percent, but today's total is still a fraction of the 1.5 million members the union boasted in 1979. General Motors, Ford and Chrysler are expected to hire around 14,750 union workers by 2015, according to the report. That number is likely far below what the UAW will need to be able to secure significant bargaining leverage.

To that end, the UAW has made it clear that organizing a foreign-owned manufacturing facility is crucial to its survival. UAW president Bob King vowed to unionize one such plant last year but failed to do so. Now the UAW is reportedly handing out authorization cards at the new Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Workers there have reportedly had mixed-reactions to the prospect of unionization.

The latest from MMA's yentes includes a Bellator championship bout and the debut of a jiu-jitsu pioneer.

-- Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney announced on "MMA Uncensored" that Eric Prindle -- who just won the Bellator heavyweight tournament by Thiago Santos not making weight -- will take on champ Cole Konrad for the title on April 13 in Atlantic City.

-- UFC 145's pay-per-view will feature six main card fights. Miguel Torres' bout with Michael McDonald will now be on on the pay-per-view that will be headlined by Jon Jones putting his belt on the line against Rashad Evans.

-- At UFC 148, Melvin Guillard will try to snap his losing streak against Team Blackhouse fighter Fabricio Camoes. Guillard's last two bouts were first-round losses to Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon, while Camoes is coming off of a submission win over Tom Hayden.

-- Milton Viera, a jiu-jitsu star who is credited for creating the anaconda choke, will make his UFC debut at at UFC 147 in Brazil against Felipe Arantas. (An earlier version of this post said anaconda joke. While it was a typo, it was at least a funny one.)

With UFC 145 coming quickly, take an extended look at how the two main event fighters worked towards the title match. In it, Jon Jones admits that Rashad Evans is in his head. He's constantly thinking about Evans, how he's training, how he's improving, and how Jones can beat him.

But Evans thinks his knowledge of Jones is exactly what gives him the edge.

"I've got the advantage mentally, too. He's not 'Jon Jones unbeatable champion' to me. I know the real Jon, the nervous kid who would ask me to tell him how to dress, how to talk and how to fight. I know how he reacts when things don't go his way, how he can't handle it mentally," Evans said.

Nabbing as much press as she can prior to dropping her new album this Tuesday (April 3), Nicki Minaj brought her colorful self to Nickelodeon's 25th Annual Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California on Saturday (March 31).
