Why just have one fight at a local MMA promotion when you can watch the referee knock out a cornerman after the fight ends? Seriously. The referee/cornerman altercation gets heated at the one-minute mark.
There's a lot of wrong in that video, like the referee continuing to pursue the cornerman when the best referees across sports try to diffuse heated situations, the cornerman confronting the ref in the first place, and the poor cornerman falling like a tree.
Can you imagine referee Herb Dean knocking out a coach? Or Greg Jackson, the respected coach to UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones going after a ref? Exactly. If you find yourself cornering or reffing in an MMA bout, remember: W.W.G.J.D, or, what would Greg Jackson do?

Dana White tweeted out this video with the simple phrase, "Brazil is crazy!" Apparently, the lackluster card that created apathy about UFC 147 didn't bother Brazilian fans as they lined up for the preliminary card. Glover Teixeira has a well-earned reputation of an extremely dangerous fighter. He hasn't lost since 2005, and 11 of his 19 wins come by knockout. The reputation is so well-known that former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua told UFC president Dana White he'd rather lose his job than fight Teixeira.
After Thiago Silva scrapped his fight with Rua because of an injury, the UFC needed a new opponent for Shogun.
"He said that he'd actually rather be cut than have to fight him," White said during a UFC on FX 3 post-fight interview with Ariel Helwani. "Dude, nobody wants to fight this guy. We're trying to match the guy up with somebody, but he didn't mind fighting Brandon Vera, so he's fighting Brandon Vera. I don't want to sound like I'm disrespecting Shogun, because I'm not. I'm just telling the truth. It's verbatim what his people said when we talked to them. You know me. I tell it like it is. If you don't want that out in public, then don't say it to me on the phone, because I'm going to say what was said. Shogun's a warrior. The guy's fought everybody from PRIDE to the UFC. His last fight with Dan Henderson was awesome. It is what it is."
Now, Rua will fight Vera, whose last win was over Eliot Marshall. Before that, Vera loss a bout to Silva which was later turned into a no-contest because of a positive drug test for Silva. The Rua-Verabout will main event the UFC's next show on Fox.
Teixeira made his UFC debut at UFC 146 with an overpowering submission of Kyle Kingsbury. Who do you want to see him fight next? Speak your mind in the comments, on Facebook or on Twitter.

Queen B ascends her throne during the second in a four-night run of Memorial Day weekend shows.
By Rebecca Thomas
<P><b>ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey</b> — The "year of 4" continues.</P><P>Four months after giving birth to her first child — an arrival announced last August <a href="/news/articles/1669858/beyonce-vma-performance.jhtml">at the MTV VMAs</a> — <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/knowles_beyonce/artist.jhtml">Beyoncé</a> returned to the stage Saturday night, on the second of a four-night run in this East Coast resort city. And it was a spectacular fitting her rising icon status.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Beyonce Gets Back To Business, Kicks Off Summer!" id="vid:785342" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>So what kinds of clues get 20somethings calling you "the greatest performer" of your generation? Well, it's in the details. For one, Revel, the sparkling, 6.3-million-square-foot beachfront destination that played host to <a href="/news/articles/1685877/beyonce-memorial-day-atlantic-city-concert.jhtml">Beyoncé's comeback</a>, devoted a channel on its guest-room flat-screen TVs solely to B-related content: no weather broadcasts, nary a "Housewife" and no commercial breaks; just videos, all-star performances and more, all through Memorial Day weekend. It was evident in the distance traveled, too, with fans telling MTV News they'd made cross-country pilgrimages, while still others came from as far as Tokyo and South Africa to hail Queen B.</P><P>But those are just the hints, peripheral proof. The presence of First Lady Michelle Obama at last night's concert left little doubt that the little girl from Houston, who joined a girl group and then struck out on her own, had seen another benchmark in her relatively young career. After <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/04/13/michelle-obama-thanks-beyonce-for-letter">exchanging letters</a> in recent months, with each calling the other a role model for girls, Obama turned up in a sleeveless green sheath waving like royalty from a balcony in Ovation Hall.</P><P>A little after 10 p.m., as the pounding opening march from "End of Time" kicked in, Beyoncé appeared in silhouette; the sequins were hard to make out but the wind-blown mane was <i>impossible</i> to miss. Finally, B, stunning in hot pink Stuart Weitzman heels and a beaded body suit, appeared on the massive stage backed by her dancers.</P><P>"Atlantic City, snap your fingers," she commanded, launching into "Love on Top." Without missing a step of the New Edition-inspired choreography, B powered through the song's modulations in an extended vocal showcase. Then she took an exaggerated pause, as if to catch her breath (or to bask in the adulation?), before belting out a final coda. The 30-year-old's comeback was officially under way.</P><P>Pushing through hits from her debut solo effort, including "Naughty Boy" and the dancehall-infused "Baby Boy," and <i>Sasha Fierce</i> smashes like "Diva," B defied all post-partum laws as she kept pace with Frank Gatson's acrobatic dance style. ("Y'all don't know how hard I had to work. I had to lose 60 pounds!" she laughed to the crowd later. "They had me eating lettuce.") And just as songs like "Single Ladies" and "Run the World (Girls)" are meant to serve as empowerment manuals for women, it became clear last night that Beyoncé's choreography is meant to do the same: a series of sensual quickstep moves that revolve around the hips and legs. It showed in the Fosse-style swing and formations on songs like "Get Me Bodied," and the strut-heavy footwork on "Freakum Dress."</P><P>"Sasha Fierce disappeared, but y'all bringing her back," B joked midway through the euphoric two-hour set.</P><P>For one of our favorite numbers, "Party," the <i>4</i> singer donned full-on showgirl regalia in a heady rendition that saw confetti coming from the roof and dice-shaped beach balls being tossed through the crowd as dancers in large feathered headdresses magically turned up in the aisles.</P><P>There were ballads, of course, at Ovation Hall, the more memorable among them a tribute to Whitney Houston and a cover of Lauryn Hill's classic "Ex Factor." And if Beyoncé reminded us of what we've lost in those gut-wrenching covers — she proved, too, that she's more than ready to carry the weight on her shoulders.</P><P><i>Share your reviews of Beyoncé's Revel shows in the comments!</i></p>

The similarities between Clay Guida and Gray Maynard are striking: Each are elite wrestlers whose striking has come a long way. Each is coming off a loss to a lightweight champion, Guida to Benson Henderson and Maynard to Frankie Edgar. And each man believes he's destined to regain the belt.
The one difference, though, that Guida believes will carry him to victory over Maynard in their five-round lightweight fight Friday in Atlantic City, N.J., is his tenacity.
"Without a doubt, I think that's going to be in my favor," Guida told Cagewriter. "I've been in fights where I've been down and come back. I am never, ever, going to quit or concede in a fight and I think that's a major advantage for me."
Guida's movement and tenacity are two of his trademarks, but he's also at least as well known for his wild, flowing hairstyle. Maynard's new coaches at the American Kickboxing Academy, but not Maynard himself, complained to the New Jersey commission about it.
Guida agreed to put his hair in cornrows to end any controversy before it began and laughed it off as a non-issue.
"I'm not sure what they were trying to do by complaining about that, but whatever it was, it didn't work," Guida said. "I'm here to fight and not talk about my hair."
Guida knows a win over Maynard, who had a draw and a knockout loss to Edgar in back-to-back title fights last year, will go a long way toward getting him his coveted first title shot.
The UFC has promised Nate Diaz a championship shot against the winner of the rematch between Henderson and Edgar at UFC 150, but Guida told Sherdog Radio he believes an impressive win over Maynard could force the UFC brass to rethink its plans.
If I go out there and beat the brakes off of him and really put it on him, I think the UFC is going to have a hard time denying us. I know Nate Diaz is right up there. Yeah, he won three in a row, but look, Gray won six or seven in a row. He hadn't lost for how many years? … [And] I went on a decent little run there. I won four over a couple of tough guys, former world champs, [Takanori] Gomi in Pride and [Anthony] Pettis in the WEC, and I lost a very, very close fight to Ben Henderson. So it's one of those, it all depends on the way of victory.
The five-round fight figures to work to Guida's advantage. One of the reasons for his popularity is his ability to fight at a frenetic pace pretty much all of the time. The pace often slows in the latter stages of a long fight, but Guida insists that will never happen to him.
He said he's better conditioned now, at 30 years old, than he's ever been.
"Five rounds is tailor-made for me," he said. "When I'm done with three rounds, really, I'm just getting loose and ready to go. I go through a grind every day to get to where I am and you haven't seen anything from me in terms of pace and stamina. The longer this fight goes, people are going to be shocked at the way I can go.
"It's a mindset. I refuse to be tired and I have always vowed to work harder than my opponents. I put myself in the worst possible situations in training and I go and go and go. It makes the fight seem easy by comparison."

It's going to be an eventful summer for Tito Ortiz, a man who was recognized as one of the most important fighters in the growth of the UFC when the promotion decided to induct him into their Hall of Fame. He will fight Forrest Griffin on July 7 at UFC 148, making it the third time the pair will meet. After that bout, Ortiz plans to retire.
"I've done everything," Ortiz told Cagewriter. "My body has taken the toll. (back injury, acl replacement) My body just can't train, and training is hard on your body, so I wanted to go out on my own terms."
But before retirement, he will fight Griffin. The pair first faced off at UFC 59. It was a close fight won by Ortiz and was considered one of the best fights of 2006. Griffin took the rematch by split decision at UFC 106. Though they've fought each other for six rounds, Ortiz said he still is studying Griffin because it's part of the job.
"Gotta do your homework. I've got to do as much homework as I possibly can. I see mistakes that he does," Ortiz said. "It doesn't matter that it's my last fight. I'm still pushing my hardest."
He was touched by the UFC deciding to make him a Hall-of-Famer.
"It means all the hard work that I did means something. I've worked really hard in this business for 15 years. I've gotten to succeed, to be very successful, at mixed martial arts in the UFC."
Because he has been in the fight game for so long, he has not had as much time to spend with his family as he would like. He has three sons, and is happy the next stage in his life will involve plenty of time with them.
"First thing is being a full-time father. Being with my kids every single day. I'm starting the second chapter of my life, and it's truly about family."
Follow Tito Ortiz on Twitter for more as he prepares for UFC 148.

Suspended UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem tweeted on Monday he'll be back to fight in December.
I'll be fighting again in December and mark my words, I'll be back.. to get the belt, sooner rather later.
Per the terms of his suspension for having elevated testosterone levels, he could technically be available by the card the UFC traditionally holds near New Year's Eve. However, the UFC isn't known to book a fight with a still-suspended fighter with hopes that he would get a license for their fight.
Will they change things up to get Overeem on the big end-of-the-year card? Don't bet on it. UFC chairman Lorenzo Fertitta said he won't book Overeem until he has a license.
"That's speculation," Fertitta said in a text to ESPN.com. "It's in the NSAC's hands. (The UFC) can't be presumptuous."
Overeem isn't eligible to apply for a license until Dec. 27, and the card is expected to be on Dec. 29. They would have to take a huge risk to put him on such an important event when he wasn't able to get a license before. He burned them for UFC 146 and made the UFC scramble to completely reconfigure the card. It makes sense they don't want to go through it again.

Luke Rockhold will get a chance to defend the Strikeforce middleweight belt against Tim Kennedy on July 14 in Portland. The two have been pushing for a match-up, but not because they hate each other. They just wanted a good fight.
In fact, these two can't even be bad when they are being pushed into it by Strikeforce commentator Frank Shamrock.
One quibble, Frank. Rockhold and Kennedy's painting was not of Mother Teresa. It's Our Lady of Guadalupe, the image of the Virgin Mary who appeared to Juan Diego in Mexico in the 1600s.

BJ Penn, who is expected to fight Rory MacDonald at UFC 152 in Toronto, is leading by example in the campaign to introduce more stringent performance-enhancing drug testing into MMA. He and MacDonald tweeted an agreement to have their September bout sponsored by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association.
Penn tweeted to MacDonald on Tuesday:
. @rory_macdonald VADA anti-doping has offered to sponsor our upcoming fight.I've accepted and invite you to help me clean up the sport
. @rory_macdonald VADA results will be released after the fight to ensure that the fight happens. Lets get started asap!!
@bjpenndotcom already worried BJ? honestly i think its a great idea 2, and im ready to do the testing for our fight aswell @danawhite
According to VADA's website, Penn and MacDonald will be subject to a testing program similar to what Olympic athletes under go. They will be subject to random testing, and have to submit their whereabouts to VADA so drug testers can show up whenever they like to require a test.
If it's truly modeled after the Olympic program, Penn and MacDonald need to be ready for knocks on their door at all times of the day and night. Olympians often tweet when the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency shows up at their door, and it's rarely expected.
Kudos to both men for paying more than lip service to the problem of PEDs in MMA. Penn is a respected veteran, while MacDonald is a young up-and-comer in the sport, and they both recognize the need to be role models. Hopefully, more fighters will follow their lead.
UPDATE: Penn's tweet was incorrect. VADA releases test results immediately and does not hold them until after an event.

In a heavyweight division of the UFC filled with fighters who are built like a Greek god, Roy Nelson and Mike Russow don't exactly fit the mold. After watching Fabricio Werdum knock out Russow at UFC 147, Nelson was struck with matchmaking inspiration.
"I want Mike Russow and loser goes to 205 or becomes Dana White Rich. Let make it happen @danawhite," Nelson tweeted.
Both men appear to carry more body fat than most of their counterparts and look like they could cut down a weight class. They also both have recent losses to Werdum, as Nelson dropped a decision to him in February.
This isn't the first time Nelson has contemplated a drop down. In March, he said he would try to get to light heavyweight if he added 100,000 Facebook likes. However, he abandoned the plan when he was booked for the all-heavyweight main card at UFC 146.
A drop for Russow, who weighed in at 246 pounds for UFC 147, may be a bit more difficult than for Nelson. In addition to being a pro fighter, he is a full-time officer in the Chicago Police Department. He doesn't train full time, like Nelson does.
Of course, the difficulty in dropping down would also give Russow more motivation to win the fight. Do you want to see this fight? Speak your mind in the comments, on Facebook or on Twitter.

Aaron Simpson went to Arizona State with NFL player and Army Ranger Pat Tillman. Simpson became friends with Pat's brother Kevin, and Pat and Kevin would come to wrestling meets to support Simpson and the other Sun Devil wrestlers.
"I can remember exactly where I was when I found out Pat was killed, and how I handled it, which wasn't good," Simpson told Cagewriter. To honor Tillman and his legacy, Simpson will wear the number 42 on his fight shorts for his bout with Kenny Robertson at UFC on Fuel 4.
"I want people who don't know him to at least give notice to who he was. Look him up. Honor his family, his wife, and bring more viewership to his foundation, the Pat Tillman Foundation."
Tillman surprised the sporting world when left a promising and lucrative NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals to become an Army Ranger after the September 11th attacks. He was killed in a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan on April 22, 2004.
He went to high school in the San Jose area, where Simpson's fight will take place. It seemed like the perfect time for Simpson to honor Tillman. Kevin agreed.
"I texted Kevin, and he said, 'Pat would really appreciate it. Pat would have loved this,'" Simpson said.
"He didn't want to be known for what he did in serving the military. He was the kind of guy that wasn't about himself or bringing recognition to himself or what he did. He was a team player. I don't want to make too big. In a way, it's a kind of personal thing. I just want to remember him."
