Beyonce's 'Countdown' Video Shoot Was 'Evolving, Spontaneous'

'I love the creative team that works with Beyonce because they can roll with anything,' video director Adria Petty says.
By Jocelyn Vena

Beyoncé's "Countdown" video plays up the singer's theatrical side. It pays homage to iconic films like "West Side Story" and "Funny Face," as well as '60s icons like the Supremes and Audrey Hepburn. The clip, co-directed by Adria Petty, is an eye-catching glimpse at the pop culture moments that reside in the creative conscience of the pop star.

While a lot of the video displays the singer's personality and spunk, as well as her ever-expanding baby bump, it's clear that Petty and her team worked hard to make sure they captured the spirit of the milestones they re-created in the video.

"I brought Beyoncé a number of references and we picked some out together. Most were German modern-dance references, believe it or not. But it really evolved," she told MTV News, calling it "an evolving, spontaneous process."

Check out what we spotted, and let us know what we missed!

"The references were then dispersed to her creative team (hair, makeup, wardrobe), and they interpreted them on the set in their own special way. Of course, one of the strongest wardrobe references was Audrey Hepburn in 'Funny Face' when she does the beatnik dance scene. I think a lot grew from there," Petty continued.

Shot over the last few months in New York City warehouses, the shoot was all about being able to squeeze in all of her work commitments while also trying to finish the elaborately set video.

What do Queen B's fans have to say about that "Countdown" baby bump?

"The shoot was great. We had a number of brilliant dancers and musicians and a top-notch crew. Beyoncé brings in a number of her own people who are so hardworking. Our video was the fourth they had shot in five days," Petty said. "I love the creative team that works with Beyoncé because they can roll with anything and keep smiling. Everyone was really upbeat and excited because we all love the track and the opportunity to work with Beyoncé so much."

Italian rider Simoncelli killed in crash at Sepang circuit

 Marco Simoncelli: 1987-2011
SEPANG: The world of motorsports was rocked when Italian MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli was killed following a horrific crash at the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix here.
The 24-year-old Gresini Honda team rider's machine veered across the track on the second lap of the race that started at 4pm yesterday and into the path of his compatriot Valentino Rossi of Ducati and American Colin Edwards of Yamaha.
It is the first fatal crash at the Sepang International Circuit since it opened in 1999.
Grim scene: Simoncelli lying motionless on the ground after the crash at the Sepang International Circuit yesterday. ? Reuters

Simoncelli, very much a rising star after enjoying his finest hour at Sepang when he finished third to clinch the 2008 season's 250cc title, had his helmet knocked off in the crash.
Rossi was able to ride away slowly to the pits while Edwards later got up and walked away but Simoncelli lay motionless on the track as his father Paolo and girlfriend Kate watched in horror from the garage.
The race was immediately red-flagged and later cancelled by the organiser Sepang International Circuit so that medical staff could continue to focus completely on treating the Italian in the medical centre.
The mop-haired and scruffy Simoncelli succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the on-track medical centre at 4.56pm.
This last week has been a nightmare for motorsports.
The fatal crash comes just a week after IndyCar racing driver Dan Wheldon died in a 15-car crash in Las Vegas and 2010 MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo crashed during warm-ups in Australia, severing a finger that was later surgically re-attached.
After Simoncelli's crash, restless fans were upset with the lengthy delay and threw water bottles and other debris onto the track.
Honda MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli of Italy (in white) falling before being hit by Yamaha?s Colin Edwards of the United States (in black) and Ducati?s Valentino Rossi of Italy (right) at the Malaysian MotoGP in Sepang yesterday.

His tragic death was not made known to the packed crowd at that time as his family had to be officially informed first.
News of his death was also beamed on various international news channels including CNN.
The Italian Olympic Committee said it would honour the racer by requesting a minute's silence at yesterday's Serie A football matches.
MotoGP medical director Michele Macchiagodena confirmed Simoncelli's death, saying he died due to chest, head and neck injuries.
?He was already unconscious when the medical staff arrived within minutes. We immediately brought him to the medical centre and gave him CPR but failed to revive him. He died 45 minutes later at 4.56pm,? he said.
Race director Paul Butler said the MotoGP paddock expressed grief and sympathies for the rider's family, friends and team.
?Circumstances surrounding the incident will be thoroughly investigated by the concerned parties,? he said.
Simoncelli had claimed his best-ever MotoGP finish of a second placing last weekend at Phillip Island, Australia.
This year was Simoncelli's second MotoGP season and he had signed to remain with Gresini Honda next year.
During his grand prix career, which began in 2002, Simoncelli won 14 times 12 in the 250cc class and twice in 125cc.
His death is the first in the premier class since another Gresini rider, Daijiro Kato, was killed at the 2003 Japanese Grand Prix.
Although there is a final race in Spain still to come, Australia's Casey Stoner has already secured the 2011 championship with his win last weekend in Australia, garnering a total of 325 points.
Simoncelli was tied with Rossi in sixth spot with 139 points.http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/10/23/article-2052455-0E7E9E0200000578-35_306x433.jpg

Report: Honda moving up mid-cycle refresh of Civic amidst criticism

2012 Honda Civic EX

Automotive News reports that Honda is itching to release a mid-cycle refresh for the company's 2012 Civic. In response to a harsh criticism from reviewers and the model's first failure to earn a coveted Recommended rating from Consumer Reports in recent memory, the automaker has apparently decided to pull ahead the model's refresh to 2013 instead of 2014. The report quotes John Mendel, American Honda Executive Vice President, as saying that his company is "appropriately energized" by feedback from critics and customers alike. At the same time, the executive stressed that he wasn't sure exactly how much the manufacturer could do or how quickly it could be accomplished.

Critics have specifically found issue with the vehicle's overly soft handling and muddled, plastic-laden dash design, especially as competition in the segment has matured and grown even more compelling. While the 2012 Honda Civic initially saw a spike in consumer interest, shoppers may have trickled off; something that analysts say is highly unusual for any Honda model, let alone this onetime leader of the compact segment.

What will the refresh bring? We can only imagine that Honda will work to cure the ails that Consumer Reports has specifically called out by improving the interior and rolling in additional content.

Overeem calls for first round KO of Lesnar, Mir says ?not so fast my friend?

There was a time Frank Mir disliked Brock Lesnar so much that he admitted his life was completely consumed by the goal of defeating the behemoth, but that doesn't mean the Las Vegas native is beyond being objective when it comes to analyzing a fight.

Alistair Overeem is confident he'll crush Lesnar in their year-end fight. Mir says it won't happen at UFC 141.

"Honestly, I think Brock will win pretty easily ? I think we're going to see the closest thing to a grappler versus striker match you'll see nowadays," Mir told ESPN.com. "Brock is going to cover up; maybe throw one jab. He'll rush Overeem to the cage, reach down for a leg and rip him down? I don't think he's going to get off his back. I'd be very shocked ? I'd applaud Overeem if he got off his back."

Mir has a pretty solid wrestling background and possesses world class jiu-jitsu skills, but he was overwhelmed by Lesnar's size (6-foot-4, 285 pounds) and knowledge/execution of positioning himself on top of a downed opponent at UFC 100.

The 6-5, 253-pound Overeem is a good striker and has added to his grappling game over the years, but is he going to be able to keep Lesnar away?

Overeem also believes it'll be grappler vs. striker, but says the guy who likes standings and banging has the advantage.

"I'm very confident. It's going to be a knockout victory in the first round. He's not going to get out of the first round. It will not come to the second round. He's a strong guy, a very dangerous guy. But, I think I've got what it takes to stop him. And I got what it takes to stop him in the first round," said Overeem (2:05 mark).

As you can see, this role will truly stretch his acting chops. Tonight's episode will be a about "a wealthy restaurant owner is murdered and the investigation leads McGarrett to take part in a charity mixed martial arts fight."

According to IMDB, Liddell has several acting credits to his name, including spots on "Criminal Minds," "Blade: The Series," and "How High," where he played a tough guy. Apparently, he also served as a transportation coordinator for "Hollywood's Magical Island: Catalina" in 2003.

?Cro Cop? loses final fight at UFC 137, Nelson uses belly and power to finish him off

LAS VEGAS - Over the last 10 years, Mirko Filipovic put on dozens of tremendous shows for fans of mixed martials, so the ending at UFC 137 was fitting.

The 37-year-old brought it and tried to slug it out with Roy Nelson, but the younger fighter's well-rounded game took over in the second and he scored a TKO win at the 1:30 mark of third at UFC 137.

"Cro Cop" was one of the most feared fighters in the world during his time with PRIDE fighting in Japan. His run with the UFC was less than stellar, but the fans never lost their love for the Crotian kickboxer. Even tonight, the Las Vegas crowd went nuts anytime Cro Cop landed a punch or kick.

"This is going to be my final fight. I didn't make a goodbye victory," a sad Cro Cop told UFC analyst Joe Rogan. "Roy was just better tonight. I want to thank all you guys, especially the UFC fans."

Cro Cop (27-10, 4-6 UFC) was very much in the fight into the middle of the second round. Two minutes in, he rocked Nelson with a left and then got off 20-25 unanswered shots. Nelson covered up and survived, enabling him to score a very important takedown with 2:35 left.

Nelson quickly moved to side control where he worked for the dominant crucifix position. Once he got it with less than 45 seconds left, he pounded away on the helpless Cro Cop. Nelson, who came into this fight about 15-17 pounds less than previous fights, still has a good-sized belly. He used that to his advantage as he smothered the 37-year-0ld. Cro Cop survived the round, but when he rose to his feet his face was all marked up.

In the third, the Croatian's legs weren't there and he got drilled by a straight right. Cro Cop went into retreat mode. A little over minute into the round, he got dropped by a left. Nelson jumped on top, got his hooks in and flattened him out. He threw four or five bigbombs to the side of Cro Cop's head and it was stopped.

"It was awesome to fight with a legend. It's good just to be back in the 'W' column.Cro Cop can still tear it up," Nelson said. "My game plan was to strike and mix it up so you see a little bit of everything."

The 2012 Jeep Wrangler is one of the most capable off-roading vehicles on the planet, and Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road has taken notice. The Wrangler Rubicon has been named 4X4 of the Year by the magazine, beating the Dodge Ram Power Wagon for the honor.

The award is the third for the Wrangler, and the 12th award in 30 years for the Jeep brand. The Rubicon took the trophy after acing a 1,000-mile trial that evaluates vehicles' performance in dirt, mud, sand, rocks, gravel and highway driving.

For 2012, the Wrangler lineup ditched its old, unloved 3.7-liter V6 in favor of the 285-horsepower Pentastar V6, as well as the various interior refinements that have been in place since the 2011 model year. The changes, coupled with the Wrangler's established off-road pedigree, were enough for it to take top honors from Petersen's 4-Wheel & Off-Road.

Rick Péwé, the mag's editor-in-chief, called the Rubicon "the most competent 4x4 ever produced," adding that the Jeep "allows you to take the trail less traveled without worrying about the journey." Hit the jump to read Petersen's press release.

Casey stoner set the 2011 MotoGP world championship at Phillip Island

Casey Stoner has just made sure the 2011 MotoGP world champion, after winning the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday (10.16.11). Repsol Honda rider won the race for 27 laps, with a 2.210 second advantage over the Honda Gresini rider Marco Simoncelli.

Donate 25 points in the series to-16 makes the position at the top of the standings while Stoner was overtaken again. With two series remaining, the Australian rider could not be pursued by a Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo, who could not perform at the Australian GP. The only rival that could scuttle the Stoner to more quickly become the world champion was sidelined by an accident during warm-up session on Sunday morning, so an injury.

Apart from the absence of Lorenzo, who made the trip Stoner became very slippery to ensure themselves a world champion, rider performance is indeed very intriguing. The proof, before the Australian GP this is it 13 times in a row is always on the podium (a total of 14 and once failed to finish the race due to accidents brushed with Valentino Rossi on the second series in Jerez), and eight-time winner.

So, not a coincidence if the Stoner enhance his success became world champion for the second time in the MotoGP class with a victory at the Circuit Phillip Island, right on the day of birthday-26. Moreover, since 2007, when for the first time this rule the premier class, Stoner always win. That is, in the last five seasons undefeated in the race Stoner in his own home.

Listening to the story of the journey Stoner in the MotoGP class, there is something unique. Of the two titles are won, Stoner always with a new team. He was a successful break-establishment champion teams.
In 2007, Stoner, who a year before plunging into the LCR Honda MotoGP team, making history for the Ducati team and himself, because for the first time they felt the MotoGP world title. In his debut with the team based in Bologna, the direct Stoner made a surprise chalked 10 wins, 14 podiums and five pole positions, so grabbed the world title that had previously been in the grip Nicky Hayden. Ducati had the right won the constructors world championship, after taking it from Honda.

But along the way during the next three seasons after becoming world champion, Stoner and Ducati performance began to decline. They were drowned by Yamaha, which has two formidable rider, Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, who in turn became the world champion.

Well, at the end of the 2010 season, Stoner decided to move to the Repsol Honda team. In his debut with the team from Japan's, Stoner again showed very promising performance. He went straight series victory in the 2011 season opener in Qatar.

Had failed on the second series due to fall after brushed with Rossi, who moved from Yamaha to Ducati, Stoner could rise again. He was always on the podium, and culminating in the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday (10.16.11), as well as to ensure victory themselves to be world champion. He won the title last season was in the grip Lorenzo.

It became the second world title Stoner in the MotoGP class. The fifth victory in a row at Phillip Island is also to ensure the Honda as constructors champions, although the remaining two series races again. That is, Honda again feel the pleasure became king after the famine crown champion since 2006, and they closed the era of 800cc engine with a proud achievement.

What about next season when the MotoGP switched to 1.000cc machine? Worth the wait, because the competition will be exciting. Because, all the factory teams already preparing from now, including Ducati, who suffered the worst periods in the 2011 season Stoner left this post.

Michael Jackson Begged Nurse For Propofol

'Nobody who cared or had your best interest at heart is going to give you this,' Cherilyn Lee recalls telling MJ.
By Gil Kaufman and Kara Warner

Former Michael Jackson nurse Cherilyn Lee testifies
Photo: Paul Buck-Pool/ Getty Images

The second day of testimony from defense witnesses in the involuntary manslaughter trial of former Michael Jackson doctor Conrad Murray included claims by one of the singer's former nurses that MJ demanded she provide him with the surgical anesthetic propofol.

The Witnesses
» Cherilyn Lee, nurse practitioner
» Brandon Phillips, president and CEO of AEG Live
» Michael Henson, toxicologist and technical operations officer for Pacific Toxicology

Key Testimony: » Nurse/ holistic medicine practitioner Cherilyn Lee testified that Jackson became frustrated with her attempts to treat his insomnia with natural remedies such as herbal teas and vitamins, insisting that only a propofol-like drug could work. Initially open to her suggestions, Lee said Jackson became "upset" as time went on and repeatedly asked for her to give him propofol. Her testimony came a day after Jackson's longtime internist, Allan Metzger, testified that during the same period just before his death, Jackson had also asked him for intravenous anesthetic to help his insomnia. Lee had never heard of propofol, but after looking it up, she said she warned Jackson not to use it.

» Lee's testimony was briefly halted after she complained of feeling dizzy and burst into tears in the courtroom hallway; she returned to the stand a short time later. Reading from Lee's record, Deputy District Attorney David Walgren asked if she recalled telling Jackson, "Nobody who cared or had your best interest at heart is going to give you this." She said she did.

» Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor dealt a blow to the defense when he barred testimony about Jackson's contractual obligations to This Is It concert promoter AEG Live. Pastor said the details could potentially distract the jurors, despite arguments from Murray's defense team that the 42-page document would show that the singer was under tremendous financial pressure to pull off the 50-concert comeback series in London. Defense attorney Ed Chernoff said in court that if Jackson had been unable to perform, he would have to repay more than $30 million at a time when he was $400 million in debt.

» Phillips' testimony centered on his experience with Jackson during the meetings and rehearsals for the This Is It series of concerts, at which Jackson insisted he be allowed to bring Murray to care for him personally.

» Phillips recalled Jackson being disconnected and distracted and that the show's choreographer, Kenny Ortega, suggested to him in an email that he consider canceling the shows due to Jackson's seemingly questionable health. Phillips said Jackson addressed those concerns during a meeting between himself, Ortega, Jackson and manager Frank DiLeo, during which Jackson told Ortega the show must go on. "You build the house and I'll put on the door and paint it," Phillips recalled Jackson saying to Ortega.

» Henson took the stand briefly to describe his background in toxicology and his area of expertise in the area of drug testing and providing information to various defense attorneys before the judge called for the day's adjournment. Testimony will resume at 9 a.m. PT on Wednesday.

Murray, who was being paid $150,000 a month to care for Jackson, had pleaded not guilty to the felony charge of involuntary manslaughter and is now facing four years in prison. But new sentencing laws in California aimed at mandatorily reducing state prison overcrowding mean that, as a nonviolent offender with no prior record, he could be sentenced to county jail instead. If that is the case, his sentence could be reduced to two years and, because of overcrowding in the Los Angeles County jail, he may be allowed to serve the majority of his time under supervised house arrest.

Lucky thief robbed Ben Henderson?s home

Lucky thief robbed Ben Henderson?s home

There is a thief in Glendale, Ariz., who should consider himself quite lucky. He robbed UFC lightweight contender Benson Henderson's home and managed to make it out before "Smooth" returned home.

Henderson tweeted that his place was rummaged through. The thief took many of his DVDs and his XBox 360, but left behind Henderson's new 44-inch television. Henderson was shaken up at first, but then thankful that the damage wasn't worse.

Shouldn't the thief be the one who is thankful? Breaking into anyone's home is a bad idea, but it's an especially bad idea to break into the home of a man who is paid to beat people up, and who has a degree in criminology. The thief should be truly appreciative that Henderson did not catch him in the act.

Henderson is currently training to fight Clay Guida on the UFC on Fox card in November. Come to think of it, what was Guida doing at the time of the crime?

A Night to Honor Shawn Tompkins: Hominick and Stout talk about mentor, trainer and friend

It's been a horrendous last few months for UFC fighters Sam Stout and Mark Hominick. They lost their trainer and mentor Shawn Tompkins back on Aug. 14. Stout is married to Tompkins' sister and the trainer was also the best man at Hominick's best man. So the bond between the guys was incredibly deep.

The Las Vegas and fight community can celebrate the life and legacy of Shawn Tompkins this Friday at the TapouT Training Center (4040 W. Hacienda) from 6-8 p.m. PT. Stout, Hominick, Bas Rutten and Mike Straka along with many other stars of MMA will be attendance to this event open to all fans.

We spoke with both fighters about their friend's impact in and out of the cage.

'All his father could do was hug me': Team-mate consoles family who watched in horror as motorcyclist is killed during Malaysian Moto GP

-Rider lost control of his bike before he appeared to be hit by Colin Edwards and then Valentino Rossi

By Daily Mail Reporter

Italian motorcyclist Marco Simoncelli died in a horrific crash at yesterday's MotoGP race in Malaysia, in full view of his devastated family and girlfriend.

The 24-year-old was flung from his bike and skidded across the track, before apparently being hit by competitors Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi.

His mother Rossella, father Paolo and girlfriend Kate watched in horror as Simoncelli's bike was smashed to pieces after his dramatic loss of control in the second lap.

They wept in shock as the unconscious rider was taken to the medical centre at the track in Sepang for treatment, but his injuries to the chest, head and neck were too serious for him to be saved.

Simoncelli's fellow Honda rider Dani Pedrosa, who had fallen out with Simoncelli earlier in the season, said: 'I've been with his father and all we could do was to hug, nothing else matters.

'Everybody in the paddock remains in shock. Many times we ourselves forget how dangerous this sport can be and when you lose people on the way nothing has any meaning. It's clear that we all do what we like, what we love, but on days like today nothing matters.'

He added: 'In a tragedy like this there is not much to say. I just want to give my condolences to his family and all the people who love him.'

The rider's girlfriend, Kate looked ashen-faced and she walked through the deserted MotoGP garages.

Fans were also spotted huddled near the track sobbing over the rider's death. He had only moved up to MotoGP level last year.

The fatal accident comes just a week after British IndyCar racing driver Dan Wheldon died after crashing in Las Vegas.

Organisers cancelled the race soon after Simoncelli's accident and said in a bulletin reported on website Autosport: 'Race cancelled as the medical centre staff is focusing on treating Marco Simoncelli and track action cannot be resumed in the current circumstances.'

The rider was given CPR in the ambulance which continued for 45 minutes but Simoncelli was declared dead at 4.56pm local time.

Deadly: The rider (No 58) is seen sliding from his bike and colliding with two other riders in a horrifying crash

Yesterday tributes were posted on Twitter in memory of the talented rider.

British Formula One driver Jenson Button wrote on his account: 'R.I.P Marco... Such an exciting talent lost. My thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone involved in MotoGP. Motorsport can be so cruel...'

And Button's Formula One teammate Lewis Hamilton wrote: 'My thoughts are with his family, friends and team at this extremely sad time. Another tragic loss at such an early age.'

Newly-crowned MotoGP champion Casey Stoner said: 'I'm so shocked and saddened by the loss of Marco. When things like this happen it reminds you how precious life is.

The Australian told BBC2: 'As soon as I saw the footage it just makes you sick inside. Whenever the helmet comes off, that's not a good sign.'

Crew members of the Honda team of Marco Simoncelli of Italy console each other as they gather outside a medical centre where the rider was taken following a crash at the Malaysian Grand Prix

A message on the MotoGP website read: 'Marco Simoncelli succumbed to injuries sustained in Malaysia.'

Simoncelli's compatriot and Repsol Honda rider Andrea Dovizioso said: 'I watched the images and I'm shocked: in a race you fight and push hard and disaster is often around the corner.

'Marco was a strong rider and he always pushed hard. We raced together since we were kids, I saw him always pushing to the maximum, he crashed many times, but without major injuries, he was seemed invincible. What happened today seems impossible.'

The last death in MotoGP came at the 2003 Japanese Grand Prix, when Japan's Daijiro Katoh died from his injuries.

Medical director at Clinica Mobile Dr Michele Macchiagodena said at a press conference yesterday that U.S. rider Edwards had suffered a dislocated shoulder in the crash but it had been reset and he was 'fine'.

When asked about Simoncelli's helmet coming off, race director Paul Butler said at the press conference: 'I think if I may reply, that will be for another occasion. Quite clearly the consequences and circumstances surrounding the accident will be thoroughly investigated.'

Australian Formula One driver Mark Webber wrote on Twitter: 'R.I.P Marco A special talent that will be missed... Thinking of your loved ones, and all the motogp paddock..mark.'

British MotoGP rider Cal Crutchlow tweeted: 'RIP Marco Simoncelli ! A great rider and all round nice guy. My thoughts are with all his family & friends. I will never forget today.'

Tribute: Driver Lewis Hamilton described Simoncelli's death as 'another tragic loss', coming just a week after IndyCar driver Dan Wheldon was killed in a racing accident

Inconsolable: Stunned fans wept after the brutal accident killed the MotoGP star

Just after the accident, Tony Elias, Moto2 world champion, had spoken of his prayers that Simoncelli's injuries were not serious.

'We just hope Marco is OK - that's my wish,' he said.

Last week British IndyCar racing driver Dan Wheldon died after he was catapulted helplessly into the air in a 225mph smash before landing on a barrier and suffering fatal head injuries.

Just days earlier the father-of-two joined a number of other drivers in expressing the fears over the speed of cars and overcrowding on the oval-shaped track.

But in a blog post, he had promised fans he would go out to win and put on a show of 'pure entertainment'.

UFC 137 shocker: GSP injured and off the card, Diaz-Penn now three-round main event

Dana White flew across country today to New York, when he landed, he and mixed martial art fans were greeted with some lousy news. The main event next week at UFC 137 has been scrapped because of an injury to UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre.

UFC 137 shocker: GSP injured and off the card, Diaz-Penn now three-round main event

Carlos Condit will go on the shelf and wait for a healthy GSP to retur with Nick Diaz vs. B.J. Penn moving to the main event.

MMAFighting's Ariel Helwani spoke with GSP's trainer Firas Zihabi, who sent mixed signals in these comments:

"He's out for a month," Zahabi said of GSP. "I would say at least a month he can't train. So unfortunately, he's out of the fight, that's for sure. He's not in any condition to fight, that's for sure. No doctor will clear him."

That sounds like a pretty serious injury or does it?

This suddenly changes the tone of the event for Nick Diaz. Diaz freaked out a month ago as his title fight with main event status approached against St-Pierre. Does this change things for Diaz from a mental standpoint?
