Keep your tires age, Key Stoner at Laguna Seca victory


INbolnet -   Difficulties in the two previous series, Casey Stoner won the MotoGP success the United States, Sunday (29/7) local time. Fierce fight with Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa in the early races, Stoner finally able to cross the finish line first.

The Repsol Honda rider took the bold decision to use a rear tire (soft). In fact, other riders prefer a harder rear tire (hard). Apparently, the strategy proved successful Stoner. He managed to overtake Lorenzo right at Laguna Seca track straight on lap-22.

"Over the weekend, we are difficult to adapt to hard tires. So I chose to use the soft tires in racing sessions. I try to be more careful to keep a little traction," said Stoner.

During the race, Stoner believes he can win. The key is to maintain the durability of the tire until the end. "At the beginning of lap-lap, I tried to go more slowly to keep the old tires. That way, I could go back to fight in the middle of racing," he continued.

Australian rider was also admitted it is difficult to overtake Lorenzo and Pedrosa early in the race. This is because the rhythm of their racing better than him. "When I was in front, my time improved lap after lap. I am very happy for this victory. Thanks to my team who have worked hard," he concluded.

Stoner will retire at the end of the 2012 season, so far has collected four wins. He is ranked third in the drivers' standings with 173 points total.
