"The Voice" Announces Format Changes

In attempt to draw in more viewers, "The Voice" stars came together to announce format changes for the upcoming season of the NBC show during a press junket and cocktail reception in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (August 12).

Executive producer Mark Burnett hosted the event at his seaside home and managed to squeeze into a round of silly pictures with Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Milian and Cee Lo Green during the course of the day.

After noticing a ratings drop once the blind auditions wrapped up, NBC has decided to allow coaches to steal contestants from other coaches if they find themselves on the brink of being sent home.

However, just like the blind auditions, if more than one judge taps their buzzer to save the contestant, the singer will then get to decide whom it is that they want to work with.

The coaches will only be granted two steals, but a new two-week "knockout round" will quickly shrink their teams - leaving each with ten singers featured in the live shows kicking off in October.

The exciting changes will debut when the season premiers on NBC Monday, September 10th.
